How can I recycle my old Bell products
Part of the solution is in your hands.
The protection of the environment is a challenge that concerns us all. The actions you take now can make a big difference; such as recycling your old Bell products. Since 2003, Canadians can recycle their mobile phone through the Bell Blue Box program and residents in Quebec can now recycle their TV receivers through a similar program. For other designated electronic products, Bell supports the establishment and the maintenance of provincial recovery programs for different electronics, such as tablets, headsets, computers etc.
To learn how to dispose of your old Bell products in an eco-friendly way, please refer to the following programs sorted by type of devices:
Mobile phones
Before you recycle your phone, please make sure you do the following:
- Transfer your mobile service to your new phone by:
- Transferring your device data to your new phone
- Moving your SIM card and/or transferring your eSIM to your new phone
- Erase personal information from your phone (e.g., text messages, photos, contacts, personal files, etc.) or reset it to the factory default settings.
- Remove your SIM card if there is one.
- If your phone is using an eSIM, learn how to delete the eSIM.
By returning your mobile phone to Bell via the Bell Trade-in program, you will obtain a certificate equivalent to your phone’s value for use in-store towards the purchase of a new phone or accessories. Phones that are old and/or in bad condition will be deemed as having no value. If your phone has no value, you can choose to recycle it through the Bell Blue Box program.
With the Bell Blue Box program, you can recycle your used mobile phone by returning it to any Bell store or by shipping it by Canada Post free of charge. This program is part of the Canadian Wireless Telecommunications Association’s Recycle My Cell program and provides Canadians with an environmentally responsible way of disposing of their used mobile phones. Bell donates the net proceeds from our mobile phone recovery programs to WWF Canada’s Regenerate Canada project.

TV receivers (Satellite and Fibe)
Choose from three fast and simple ways to return your TV receiver:
For rental receivers or those still under warranty:
- For rental receivers no longer in use, please make sure they are removed from your account first. Then, arrange the return of your receivers by obtaining a return shipping label in our equipment return portal.
For purchased TV receivers:
- Québec residents can recycle purchased TV receivers by sending them back to us free of charge through Canada Post . Visit the Bell TV recycling program page for details.
- Customers in all other provinces can recycle purchased TV receivers through Bell-supported provincial recycling programs. Find an electronics recycling drop-off location
Modems
Rented Bell modems that are returned are also managed in an environmentally responsible way. Returned modems are reconditioned for reuse or recycled if they are in poor condition. To return your modem, please see our Returning your modem page.
Modems batteries
Batteries owned by Bell:
Please call 310-BELL (2355) for instructions on recycling the battery.
Purchased batteries:
Bell supports provincial battery recycling programs by remitting Environmental Handling Fee. Please visit the Call2recycle website to find a drop-off location that will accept your battery.
Other electronic equipment
All other equipment – such as Bell Smart Home devices, Satellite TV dishes and accessories, and Wireless Home Internet equipment – can be recycled through Bell-supported provincial recycling programs.
