Learning about and managing my Alcatel smartphone

If your Alcatel smartphone becomes unresponsive or doesn't perform as expected, you can perform a hard reset to return it to the factory default state.
  1. Before resetting your phone, turn it off and then on again. This may fix some issues. If your phone wonʼt turn off, follow the steps below.
  2. Press and hold the Volume up and Power buttons until the Android startup appears on the screen.
  3. Scroll to wipe data/factory reset by pressing the Volume down button.
  4. Press the Power button.
  5. Scroll to Yes by pressing the Volume down button
  6. Press the Power button.
  7. The phone will now wipe all contents.
  8. Press the Power button.
  9. The phone will now reboot to the initial setup screen.
Please note that all of your data, downloaded apps and settings will be erased during the reset. Ensure that any photos, music, documents or other data that you wish to keep is backed up somewhere else, other than on the device itself.
You can see how much memory has been used, and how much is available, on your Alcatel smartphone.

  2. Touch Settings.
  3. Scroll to Storage. The available memory is displayed. To view more information, touch Storage.
  4. The storage details are displayed.
Find the phone number of the SIM card in your Alcatel smartphone.
  1. Touch Apps.
  2. Touch Settings.
  3. Scroll to and touch System.
  4. Touch About phone.
  5. Touch Status.
  6. Touch SIM status.
  7. The phone number is displayed.
Follow these steps to insert a SIM card into your Alcatel smartphone. You can also insert a memory card (microSD card) for additional storage space.
  1. Using your thumb or finger, lift up the back cover using the small notch at the bottom-left of the phone.
  2. With the metal contacts facing down, line up the SIM card with the SIM card slot.
  3. Push the SIM card into the SIM card slot.
  4. With the metal contacts facing down, line up the memory card with the memory card slot.
  5. Push the Memory card into the memory card slot.
  6. Line up the back cover with the phone and press gently until it clicks into place.

In your device settings, you can see the software version you’re running, check for updates and set up automatic updates (if available).

Before you update

It can take some time to install updates, so make sure your device is:

  • Charged or plugged in
  • Connected to Wi-Fi

To check your software version:

  1. Select Apps.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Scroll to and select System.
  4. Select About phone.
  5. The software version is displayed.

To update your software:

  1. Select Apps.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Scroll to and select System.
  4. Select About phone.
  5. Select Updates.

The phone will check for updates. If an update is available, wait for it to download and install.
