My Bell Satellite TV channels change by themselves (9500 Whole Home PVR)

9500 - Whole Home PVR

Steps to follow: 7
  • Press SYSTEM INFO on the front of the receiver to display the System Information screen.
  • Take note of the number beside the Remote Address field.
  • On your remote, press and hold options for a minimum of 3 seconds until the green tv light flashes twice.
  • On your remote keypad, enter a number between 1-16 that is different from the number currently in the remote address field. (Enter two digits, such as 01, 02, 03 and so on.)
  • Press select. The green tv light should flash twice.
  • Press record (rec). The remote address field on the System Info screen should now be the same as the code you entered in step 4 (the digit zero is not shown).
  • Scroll to and select Done.

1. Press SYSTEM INFO on the front of the receiver to display the System Information screen.

If your channels are changing by themselves, the remote of a neighbour, or someone else close by, may be using the same address (frequency) as yours. Because some remotes use radio signals that can change channels even if you don't point them directly at the receiver (and even through walls), your neighbours may essentially be changing channels on your receiver with their own remotes. To correct the issue, change your remote's address.
