IS-95 is an older technology used for data activities such as tone-based fax, modems or connections that require a prefix (ex. #777). We are updating our service with faster HSPA+/LTE technologies, and as a result, starting May 4, 2015, IS-95 data service will no longer be available.
If you use IS-95 data connections and you want to ensure that your data device service is not interrupted, you will be required to switch to a device that runs on the more advanced HSPA+/LTE networks before May 4, 2015.
See Mobile Internet options at bell.ca/mobility.
For mobile phones, this change will not impact your voice calling or text messaging services; however, you will no longer have access to the Mobile Browser service on IS-95. If you would like to access the Internet from your mobile, we offer a wide selection of phones that work on the HSPA+/LTE networks.
