Enabling the Caller ID feature on your Bell Satellite TV receiver
NOTE: Not available on 9500 or 7500.
Using your satellite receiver remote control:- Press MENU.
- Select System Setup.
- Select Installation.
- Select Caller ID
- Select Enable Caller ID or Disable Caller ID.
- Select Done to exit.
How to use the Caller ID feature
The Caller ID feature on your Bell Satellite receiver shows the names and/or telephone numbers of callers on your TV screen.
To use the feature you must:
- Subscribe to Caller ID/Call Display service from Bell or another local phone provider
- Have a phone line connected to the back of your satellite receiver
- Enable the Caller ID feature on your satellite receiver
How it works
When you receive a call while watching TV, you'll see this Caller ID pop-up screen:
To dismiss the pop-up, select OK. If you do nothing, the popup will disappear after 20 seconds.
When you receive a call while in a menu screen, a different Caller ID pop-up will appear:
To dismiss the pop-up, select OK. If you do nothing, the pop-up will disappear after 20 seconds.
Note: some Caller ID information may not appear as expected or may not appear at all depending on how the information is provided from long distance providers and wireless carriers.
Connecting your receiver to the phone jack
Connect the receiver to an active telephone connection using a standard telephone cable or a wireless modem jack.
Note: If you have high speed Internet service, you may require an additional DSL filter. You can obtain additional filters from Bell or your Internet service provider.
Using the Caller ID history
To view your Caller ID history from your satellite receiver:
- Press MENU on your remote control.
- Select System Setup.
- Select Caller ID History
You can now scroll through the list and delete specific entries or clear the entire list.
