You can change your mobile phone number, for example, if you move or if you’d like a special number similar to your home number.
The only way to change your mobile phone number is through a Bell Mobility authorized dealer. If you want to keep a phone number you have with another wireless service provider, you must visit a dealer so that they can transfer the number for you.
Due to recent updates, mobile number changes via bell.ca are unavailable until further notice.
There’s a one-time mobile number change fee of $20 for changing your mobile phone number. For a special number, the one-time mobile number change fee is $25, which includes the special number search and the number change. The $20 or $25 mobile number change fee will appear on your monthly bill. If you have a Prepaid plan, you must pay the fee in store.
A one-time programming fee of up to $20 applies for CDMA phones (paid in store).
If the wrong mobile phone number was assigned to you when you activated your account, you’ll have to go back to the same dealer, who will correct the mistake at no charge. If your mobile device was activated over the phone, you’ll have to call the same number to make the correction.Notes:
- Only the owner, an authorized contact or a person whose name appears on the account can request a number change.
- Unfortunately, we can’t provide a recorded greeting notifying callers that the number has changed.
- If you are currently enrolled in a university or college and have a valid student ID, you are entitled to two free number changes per year.
You can also swap mobile phone numbers with another subscriber by visiting a Bell Mobility authorized dealer. Both people must be in the store at the same time to request a number swap, unless one person’s name appears on both accounts.
The charge for number swaps is $25 for each mobile phone number changed. A programming fee of up to $20 per phone applies (paid in store).
- All fees are subject to change.
