If you bought your Nokia E72 from Bell, it is already set up for the Bell Mobility 4G network.
Follow these instructions to manually configure an unlocked Nokia E72 for multimedia messaging (MMS) and browsing on the Bell Mobility 4G network.
Browser settings
- Select Menu > Tools > Settings > Connection > Access Points.
- Select Options > New access point and create a new profile with the following settings:
Connection name: Bell WAP Connection
Data bearer: Packet Data
Access point name: pda.bell.ca
Username: None
Prompt password: No
Password: (leave blank)
Authentication: Normal
Homepage: http://homepage - Select Options > Advanced settings and enter the following settings:
Network type: IPv4
Phone IP address: Automatic
DNS address: Automatic
Proxy server address: web.wireless.bell.ca
Proxy port number: 80
The changes are saved automatically. - Return to the main menu and select Web.
- After the browser has loaded, select Options > Settings > General > Access Point.
- Select User defined then the name of the newly created profile (e.g. Bell WAP Connection).
MMS settings
- Select Menu > Tools > Settings > Connection > Access Points.
- Create a new profile with the following settings. Select Options > Edit to make changes to each field.
Connection name: Bell MMS Connection
Data bearer: Packet Data
Access point name: pda.bell.ca
Username: None
Prompt password: No
Password: (leave blank)
Authentication: Normal
Homepage: http://mms.bell.ca/mms/wapenc - Select Options (left soft key) > Advanced settings and enter the following settings:
Network type: IPv4
Phone IP address: Automatic
DNS address: Automatic
Proxy server address: web.wireless.bell.ca
Proxy port number: 80
The changes are saved automatically. - Return to the main menu and select Communications > Messaging > Options (left soft key) > Settings > Multimedia message > Access point in use.
- Select the name of the newly created profile (e.g. Bell MMS Connection).
Please note that you will have to reprogram these settings any time you insert a different SIM card or if you reset the phone.
