How to change my Bell Smart Home batteries
A low battery icon will appear on your main panel. Unless you’ve had a power outage or the panel unplugged, this indicates that the backup battery has reached the end of its life.
To replace your batteries:
Door sensor
- Push the grooved tab inwards to release sensor from back cover.
- Remove the old batteries.
- Replace with two new CR2032 batteries.
- Attach the sensor to the back cover. It should snap in place.
2GIG motion sensor
- To open motion sensor, remove the screw from bottom of the sensor and pull off the back cover.
- Remove the old battery.
- Replace with a new CR123A battery.
- Attach the sensor to the back cover and tighten screw.
Honeywell motion sensor
- To open motion sensor, push in tab at the bottom of the sensor and pull front of sensor away from the back cover.
- Remove the old battery.
- Replace with a new CR123A battery.
- Attach the sensor to the back cover and snap into place.
Glass break sensor
- To open the glass break sensor, turn the unit counter-clockwise to release it from the back cover.
- Remove the old batteries.
- Replace with two new CR123A batteries.
- Attach the sensor to the back cover and turn the unit clockwise to lock it into place
Wireless keypad
- To open the wireless keypad, push the two tabs on the top side simultaneously and pull outwards.
- Remove the old batteries.
- Replace with two new CR2032 batteries.
- Attach the keypad back to the back cover and snap into place
Keyfob
- To open the keyfob, unscrew the back and separate the two sides.
- Remove the old battery.
- Replace with a new CR2025 battery.
- Attach the two sides and secure them with the screw.
Water sensor
- To open the water sensor, push down the tab and pull the front cover off the back cover.
- Remove the old battery.
- Replace with a new CR15H270 or CR2 battery.
- Attach the sensor to the back cover and snap into place.
Carbon monoxide (CO) detector
- To open the CO detector, turn the unit counter-clockwise to release it from the back cover.
- Remove the old battery.
- Replace with a new CR123A battery.
- Attach the sensor to the back cover and turn the unit clockwise to lock it into place.
2GIG smoke detector
- To open the smoke detector, turn the unit counter-clockwise to release it from the back cover.
- Remove the old batteries.
- Replace with three new AAA batteries.
- Attach the sensor to the back cover and turn the unit clockwise to lock it into place.
Honeywell smoke detector
- To open the smoke detector, turn the unit counter-clockwise to release it from the back cover.
- Remove the old battery.
- Replace with a new CR123A battery.
- Attach the sensor to the back cover and turn the unit clockwise to lock it into place.
Wireless panic button
- To open the panic button, separate the top cover by placing a flathead screwdriver in the slot on the bottom right corner, between the top and bottom cover, and twist.
- Place a small flathead screwdriver in the slot between the metal clip and the battery and twist the screwdriver slightly while holding back one of the black plastic edges holding the battery.
- Replace with a new CR2032 battery.
- Attach the front and back covers and snap into place.
Image sensor
- To open the image sensor, slide the image sensor upwards to detach it from the back plate/mount.
- Remove the old batteries.
- Replace with two new AA lithium batteries.
- Slide the sensor into the back plate/mount.
Door lock
- Remove three screws from the back cover (one on each side and one on the bottom).
- Remove the back cover.
- Pull out the battery tray from the top.
- Remove the old batteries.
- Replace with four new AA batteries.
- Slide the battery tray back in.
- Attach the back cover.
- Reinstall the screws to secure.
Thermostat (GC-TBZ48)
Using fingernails at the indents on the cover bottom, pull open the front panel (the thin front cover, not the main panel).
- Remove the old batteries.
- Replace with four new AA batteries.
- Place the front cover back on and snap into place.
How to change batteries on your PowerG sensors
PowerG smoke and heat detector 9936
Battery type: Three AAA batteries
To remove the batteries, complete the following steps:

Remove the detector from its mounting base by twisting it counterclockwise.

Note the orientation of the batteries then carefully remove batteries by lifting from the “+” end using a flathead screwdriver.
-
Wait at least 30 seconds before installing new batteries to ensure a proper power-down sequence.
To insert the new batteries, complete the following steps:
-
Insert the new batteries, making sure the orientation of the batteries is the same as the batteries that you just removed.
Note: If the batteries are not installed properly, the detector will not operate and the batteries may be damaged.

Reinstall the detector on its mounting base by turning it clockwise until the mating marks align.
-
After the power up sequence, the green LED should blink once every 60 seconds to indicate normal operation.
If the detector does not power up, check that the batteries are installed correctly and fully charged.
PowerG door and window vanishing sensor 9303
Battery type: One 3 V lithium CR2450 battery
To remove the battery, complete the following steps:

Remove the cover
-
Wedge a flathead screwdriver under the battery.
-
Twist the screwdriver using the base as a lever to remove the battery.
To insert the new battery, complete the following steps:
-
Insert the battery at an angle while observing battery orientation.

Press down on the battery until it fits into place
PowerG door and window aux sensor 9945
Battery type: One 3 V lithium CR-123A
To remove the battery, complete the following steps:

Insert a flathead screwdriver into the slot and push upward to remove cover.
-
Remove the screw and separate the cover from the base.
-
Note the orientation of the battery and then remove it.
To insert the new battery, complete the following steps:

Install the battery making sure its orientation is the same as the one you just removed.

Replace the cover.
PowerG temperature sensor 9905
Battery type: One 3 V lithium CR-123A
To remove the battery, complete the following steps:

Insert a flathead screwdriver into the slot and push upward to remove cover.

Remove the screw and separate the cover from the base.
-
Note the orientation of the battery and then remove it.
To insert the new battery, complete the following steps:

Install the battery making sure its orientation is the same as the one you just removed.

Replace the cover.
PowerG shock sensor 9935
Battery type: One 3 V lithium CR-123A
To remove the battery, complete the following steps:

Insert a flathead screwdriver into the slot and push upward to remove cover.
-
Remove the screw and separate the cover from the base.
-
Note the orientation of the battery and then remove it.
To insert the new battery, complete the following steps:

Install the battery making sure its orientation is the same as the one you just removed.

Replace the cover.
PowerG panic button remote 9938
Battery type: One 3 V lithium CR-2032
To remove the battery, complete the following steps:
-
Insert a coin into the slot on the bottom of the unit and twist it open.
-
Make sure the elastic pad within the cover remains in place. Put it back in place if it falls off.
-
Remove the old battery from its holder.
To insert the new battery, complete the following steps:
-
Insert a new battery. Ensure that the “+” side of the battery faces up.
-
Test the battery by pressing the button on the fob. The LED indicator should light up.
-
Replace the cover securely, making sure that it snaps shut.
PowerG panic CO detector 9933
Battery type: One 3 V lithium CR-123A
To remove the battery, complete the following steps:
-
Remove the detector from its mounting base by twisting it counterclockwise.
-
Note the orientation of the battery and then remove it.
-
Wait at least 20 seconds before installing the new battery to ensure a proper power-down sequence.
To insert the new battery, complete the following steps:
-
Install a new battery in the battery compartment observing the correct orientation.
Note: If the battery is not installed correctly, the detector will not operate and the battery may be damaged. If the battery is incorrectly inserted, remove it gently with a flathead screwdriver and correctly reinsert.

Reinstall the detector onto the mounting bracket by turning it clockwise.
-
After the power-up sequence, the green LED blinks once every 12 seconds to indicate normal operation.
PowerG flood detector 9985
Battery type: One 3 V lithium CR-123A
To remove the battery, complete the following steps:

Insert a flathead screwdriver into the slot and push upward to remove the cover.
-
Remove the screw and separate the cover from the base.
-
Note the orientation of the battery and then remove it.
To insert the new battery, complete the following steps:

Install the battery making sure its orientation is the same as the one you just removed.
-
Replace the cover.
PowerG glass break detector 9922
Battery type: One 3 V lithium CR-123A
To remove the battery, complete the following steps:

Press in the snap (located on bottom of the unit) and separate the cover from the base.
-
Note the orientation of the battery and then remove it.
To insert the new battery, complete the following steps:
-
Install the battery into the battery clips its orientation is the same as the one you just removed.

Replace the cover.
PowerG motion detector 9914
Battery type: One 3 V lithium CR-123A
To remove the battery, complete the following steps:
-
Remove screw located at the bottom of the unit.
-
Separate the cover from the base.
-
Note the orientation of the battery and then remove it.
To insert the new battery, complete the following steps:
-
Install new battery making sure its orientation is the same as the one you just removed.
-
Replace cover.
-
Insert the screw and tighten. Do not use excessive pressure.
PowerG 4-button keyfob 9939
Battery type: One 3 V lithium CR-2032
To remove the battery, complete the following steps:

Remove the backside screw
-
Open the cover using a screwdriver.
-
Note the orientation of the battery and then push it out of its holder.
To insert the new battery, complete the following steps:
-
Install new battery making sure its orientation is the same as the one you just removed.
Note: If the batteries are not installed properly, the unit will not operate and the batteries may be damaged.

Test the unit by momentarily pressing one of the Transmit buttons. The LED should light up.
-
Replace the cover and attach with the screw.
