If your Google smartphone becomes unresponsive or doesnʼt perform as expected, you can perform a hard reset to return it to the factory default state.
- Before resetting your phone, turn it off and then on again. This may solve the problem. If your phone doesnʼt turn on, follow these steps to perform a hard reset.
- Press and hold the Volume down and Power buttons until the Android Recovery screen appears.
- Press the Volume down button.
- With Recovery Mode displayed, press the Power button.
- Scroll to wipe data/factory reset by pressing the Volume down button.
- Press the Power button.
- Scroll to Yes by pressing the Volume down button.
- Press the Power button.
- The phone will now wipe all contents.
- Press the Power button.
- The phone will now reboot to the initial setup screen.
- Swipe up to view the apps.
- Touch Settings.
- Touch Storage.
- The storage details are displayed.
- Swipe up to view the apps.
- Touch Settings.
- Touch About phone.
- Touch SIM status.
- The phone number is displayed.
- Locate the SIM card slot on your device
- Insert the SIM removal tool (included in the box the phone came in) and push to eject the SIM/memory card tray.
- Remove the SIM card tray.
- Insert the SIM card into the SIM card tray.
- Re-insert the SIM card tray and push until it clicks into place.
