Is there a charge for this service?
Within Canada: No. Voicemail via MMS is an enhancement to the Message Centre feature, which is included in all current Bell Mobility smartphone rate plans.
Outside of Canada: When roaming, standard data usage rates apply, which will be deducted from your roaming add-on, if applicable. Otherwise, pay-per-use data roaming rates apply based on the destination you are travelling in; see bell.ca/travel for roaming rates. Data usage applies if the audio file downloads automatically or if you open the MMS and download the audio file manually.
Will I receive new voicemails via MMS if my voicemail mailbox is full?
No. If your voicemail mailbox is full, you cannot receive any new voicemails in Message Centre or via MMS. You should continue to manage your voicemail mailbox as you normally do – call in and delete messages you no longer require – to free up space for new voice messages to be left.
How do I delete voicemails?
You need to call into your mailbox (press and hold the 1 key on your phone) to delete voicemails. Deleting the MMS audio files from your text messages will only remove them from using storage space on your phone.
Do the MMS audio files use phone storage?
Yes, the MMS audio files will use minimal storage space on your phone (a two-minute voicemail will use approximately 200 KB of space). You can delete these files at any time. However, to delete the actual voicemail, you need to call into your voicemail mailbox.
