Call Forwarding immediately redirects calls intended for your mobile phone to another number, such as your home or office number.
You can still make outgoing calls when this feature is turned on.
You’ll save airtime on most rate plans by forwarding your calls to a landline phone. If you forward your calls to another mobile phone, airtime charges will be billed to that phone's account.
If you forward your calls to a long distance number, you will be billed the applicable long distance charges.
You can add Call Forwarding to your Bell Mobility rate plan for a monthly fee or use it on a pay-per-use basis for $0.25 a minute.
What’s the difference between Call Forwarding and No Answer Transfer?
Call Forwarding forwards the call from the first ring, so your mobile phone won’t ring at all. With No Answer Transfer, calls will ring first on your mobile phone and if you don’t answer, they will be forwarded to the number you have set up.
On HSPA phones, you can choose from two different types of Call Forwarding without subscribing separately to No Answer Transfer:
- The first will redirect all incoming calls directly to your voicemail.
- The second will redirect incoming calls to your voicemail after allowing the phone to ring.
Follow these steps to enable Call Forwarding on the Bell Mobility network.
- Go to the Call Settings menu from the main menu of your phone. Select Call Forwarding.
- Select the type of call you’d like to forward. For example, you can forward all voice calls or only calls that you don't answer.
- Follow the prompts to activate including entering the forwarding destination number. Remember that if this is a long distance call, you'll be billed the long distance fees.
- Once Call Forwarding is activated, you'll receive a free text message on your phone to confirm that the activation is complete.
Follow these steps to disable Call Forwarding on the Bell Mobility network.
- Go to the Call Settings menu from the main menu of your phone. Select Call Forwarding.
- Select the Call Forwarding type you'd like to deactivate.
- Follow the prompts to deactivate.
- If you have activated Call Forwarding and want to restore your voicemail, select Deactivate All from the deactivation menu.
To change the number your calls are forwarded to, simply follow the same steps as you would to turn on Call Forwarding. This will replace the previous number with the new number.
If your mobile phone or smartphone operates on the HSPA/UMTS network, you can easily check the status of Call Forwarding and see the number that calls are being forwarded to.
