The Bell Connected Car Plug-in service will be discontinued
Bell has discontinued the Connected Car Plug-in service. If you currently subscribe to this service, it will be removed from your account, and you’ll no longer be billed for it.
If you have the built-in Connected Car service from Bell, it will continue to work.
Bell Connected Car Plug-in decommission FAQs
Why are you discontinuing the service?
The vendor has discontinued support of the Bell Connected Car app because it’s an older technology, it’s difficult to maintain and it no longer delivers an experience that’s consistent with Bell standards.
What does this mean to my monthly bill?
The service will be removed from your account and you’ll no longer be billed.
Can I access or use the features/service without the app?
Unfortunately, there is no other way to access the Connected Car services. All existing features will no longer work, including:
- Wi-Fi hotspot
- Engine diagnostics
- Trip tracking and reporting
- Smart notifications (battery and fuel alerts, driver insights like speeding or harsh braking)
- Boundary alerts (geofencing)
Can I recover my trip history and other saved data?
Save any data you wish to keep. Once the service is terminated, the Bell Connected Car app will be out of service and there won’t be any way to recover saved data or trip history.
Does Bell offer an alternative solution?
Unfortunately, Bell does not offer an alternative Connected Car plug-in solution. If you’re interested in Wi-Fi connectivity for your car, visit bell.ca/connectedcar to learn more about our built-in Connected Car solution.
Can I return the device or trade it in?
Bell does not have a process to return this particular device and it has no trade-in value. If you’d like to dispose of it, the device can be recycled through Bell-supported provincial recycling programs.
