Impacts to the features of the latest Bell Aliant Internet Security Services software
It is important to stay up to date with the latest version of the Internet Security Services software to ensure your computer is protected against the newest viruses and malware. To keep you protected, a new version of the software (version 26) will be released on November 1, 2024.
However, the latest version introduces the following changes to the Internet Security Services software.
- Safe Files, which automatically recovers files that you selected when ransomware is detected, will no longer be supported. However, Ransomware Remediation, a similar feature that already exists in the software, can back up all your data.
- Rescue mode, which allows Windows 7 computers to be rebooted in a trusted environment for cleanup and restoration, will no longer be supported.
- File Vault, which creates encrypted, password-protected logical drives on your computer to securely store confidential and sensitive documents, will no longer be supported.

- Wallet, a password manager that stores your credentials and automatically logs you in to websites, email and apps using a single master password, will no longer be supported.

Download and install Internet Security Services
- Click on the download link in your welcome email or download now.
- Click on the Download Now button.
- Select your preferred language.
- Click OK. The Welcome to the Internet Security Servicepoint Agent Setup Wizard screen appears.
- Click Next. The Licence Agreement screen appears.
- Click I accept the agreement to accept the licence agreement and click Next. The Privacy Policy screen appears.
- Click I accept the agreement to accept the licence agreement and click Next to accept the privacy policy. The Ready to Install screen appears.
- Click Install. The installation will take a few minutes to complete.
- Once it is finished, the Completing the Internet Security Agent Wizard appears.
- Click Finish. The Internet Security Login screen appears.
- On the Login screen:
- Enter your username and password for Internet Security services. This information can be found in the Welcome email that was sent.
- Click Next.
- The Internet Security Services Licence Agreement screen appears.
- On the Licence Agreement screen:
- Click on I accept these terms.
- Click Submit.
- The Internet Security Services download screen appears. The Internet Security Services software will download and start installing. Once it is complete, the Welcome to Internet Security Services screen appears.
- You may receive a prompt to remove any other security software you have installed on your computer. Click to Yes to give permission to remove any other security software.
- On the Internet Security Installation screen, accept the Subscription Agreement and click Install.
- Once the installation completes, click Start Device Assessment to scan your device or click Skip to continue to the next screen.
- The software will perform final configurations.
- Once the installation and the scan are complete, click Finish.
Register for the Internet Security Services portal
The Internet Security Services portal allows you to:
- Configure your Parental Control settings
- Manage the security of all your devices
To register your account:
- Click on the desktop icon Registration to Internet Security Services Portal.
- Enter the following information:
- Email address: Type the email address you used to sign up for Internet Security Services.
- Password: Type a password for your account. Strong passwords usually contain a mix of letters and numbers and must be 6 characters long.
- Click Create Account
- You can now access the Internet Security Services portal either through the software or by visiting internetsecurityservices-central.mysecuritydashboard.com
Perform a scan
Scan for vulnerabilities on my computer
To scan for vulnerabilities:
- Open the Internet Security Services.
- Click the Protection icon. The Protection screen appears.
- Click Open in the Vulnerability panel.
- Click Start Scan in the Vulnerability screen.
- Wait for Internet Security Services to check your system for vulnerabilities. This may take a few minutes.
- The Vulnerability Scan displays all vulnerabilities. Click on the action beside the vulnerability to take action to resolve the issue.
Run a quick scan in Internet Security Services
To run a Quick Scan:
- Open Internet Security Services.
- Click on the Protection icon. The Protection screen appears.
- Click Open in the Antivirus panel. The Antivirus screen appears.
- Click Run Scan in Quick Scan section.
- Internet Security Services will start the scan. This may take a few minutes.
- Internet Security Service will prompt you to choose an actions to take if threats are detected. When done, click Close.
Scan a file or folder with Internet Security Services
To scan a file or folder:
- Right click on the file or folder
- Click Bell.
- Click Scan with Internet Security Services.
- The Antivirus Scan will scan the file and display the results.
How to export saved passwords from your wallets to a CSV file
Once you’ve updated Internet Security Services to the latest version and restarted Windows, follow the steps below to export your saved passwords from your wallets to a CSV file.
- Go to the C:\Program Files\Bell\Bell folder.
- Double-click the bdwtxcon file and select your preferred language.
- Click the Start Now button on the welcome screen.
- Check the box next to the name of the wallets you wish to export, and click the Next button.
- Enter your master password to unlock the selected wallets, then click the Add Wallet button.
- The tool will start collecting data from the selected wallets. A progress bar indicates at all times the status of the database export process. Once the database is ready, a summary of the accounts exported from the wallets is displayed. Click the Save your data button.
- When prompted, choose a name for the CSV file and save it somewhere easily found – like your desktop. Internet Security Services will export all your saved login data to that file.
How to retrieve content from file vaults
File vaults are no longer part of Bell Aliant Internet Security. You can still recover your files locked in vaults created with older versions.
- Double-click the bdfvcl file in the folder C:\Program Files\Bell\Bell.
- Select Yes if presented with the User Account Control dialog box.
- Click the three dots next to the Select vault file field.
- Locate the desired vault file, select it, then click Open.
- In the Type vault password field, enter the password you chose when you created this vault.
- Click the three dots next to the Select destination directory field. In the pop-up window, select the folder where you want to extract the contents of the vault. Click OK to confirm.
- Click Export to extract the vault files to the specified folder. The process is complete when you see the message, “Transfer finalized” at the bottom of the log.
- A message appears if Window Explorer windows are open. Click OK if it appears.
- The file transfer process starts. If a message about a legacy File Vault driver appears, click No.
- A “Transfer finalized” message appears at the bottom of the log indicating that the transfer is complete.
