How to connect a USB device to a modem

Connecting a USB device to your modem allows its files to be shared to all capable devices connected to the modem.

  1. Plug the USB storage device into the designated USB slot on the side or back of your modem.
  2. On the computer, click Go in the Finder bar at the top of the screen.
  3. Click Connect to Server
  4. Click Browser in the window that pops up.
  5. Click on the file server to access the USB device’s files.

Applicable to: Home Hub 1000, 2000, 3000, 4000, Giga Hub.

Connecting a USB device to your modem allows its files to be shared to all capable devices connected to the modem.

  1. Plug the USB storage device into the designated USB slot on the side or back of your modem.
  2. On the computer, click Start/Windows button.
  3. Click Documents (this will open the File Explorer).
  4. Click on the address bar at the top of the window.
  5. Delete the current text and enter \\mynetwork.

    Note: Make sure you use back slashes '\' and not forward slashes '/'.
  6. Press Enter on your keyboard or click the Go arrow icon on the right of the address bar.
  7. Click the USB device to access the files.
