Using parental controls on your Fibe TV Box

With Fibe TV, it’s easy to protect your children from content you consider inappropriate. Parental controls let you password-protect live TV programming, Pay-per-view and On Demand rentals.

Note: parental control settings will only apply to Fibe TV content, and do not apply to third-party apps such as Crave, Netflix, Prime Video, YouTube, etc.

Select this option if your Fibe TV guide has an options menu at the far left of the screen
Select this option if your Fibe TV guide only displays your channels with no side menu

To set up parental controls on your Fibe TV Voice Remote, follow these simple steps:

  1. Press the Home button on your Fibe TV Voice Remote and select Settings.
  2. Scroll to Parental Controls.
  3. Select Canadian Classifications or Parental advisories to customize your parental control settings.

    Remember:

    • Customizing parental controls will require your Bell username and password. To speed this process up, select Set PIN within Parental Controls to create a PIN.
  4. To block content, select the advisory or classification category and a checkmark will appear to enable blocked content.

To lock your purchases:

  1. Press the Home button on your Fibe TV Voice Remote and select Settings.
  2. Scroll to My preferences.
  3. Select Lock Purchases using your Bell username and password.

To set up parental controls on your Fibe TV Voice Remote, follow these simple steps:

  1. Press the Home button on your Fibe TV Voice Remote and select Settings.
  2. Select Parental Controls.
  3. Select Parental Locking or Rental Locking to customize your parental control settings.

    Remember:

    • The first time you access parental controls, you’ll need to set up a custom PIN. Use the number keys on your remote to enter a four-digit PIN, which will be required to access restricted content in the future.
    • The first time you select rental locking, you’ll need to enter the default PIN for the service, which is 1234. Then you can select Change PIN to set up a custom PIN for rental locking.
  4. Next to controls you’d like to customize, select Change.
  5. Scroll to and select the settings you want to lock.
  6. Scroll to and select Save.
  1. Press the Home button on your Fibe TV Voice Remote and select Settings.
  2. Scroll to Parental Controls.
  3. Scroll to and select Parental Locking.
  4. Using your remote, enter your 4-digit PIN. If you havenʼt set a PIN for this receiver, the default PIN is 1234.
  5. Next to Channels, select Change.
  6. Scroll to and select the channel you want to lock.
  7. The selected channels are indicated by a padlock icon.
  8. Repeat this process for any other channels you want to lock.
  9. When you’re finished, scroll to and select Save.

The selected channels have been locked and your 4-digit PIN will be required to view them.

Note: depending on your TV service, this feature may not be applicable.

Complete these steps for each receiver.
  1. Press the Home button on your Fibe TV Voice Remote and select Settings.
  2. Scroll to Parental Controls.
  3. Scroll to and select Parental Locking.
  4. Using your remote, enter your 4-digit PIN. If you havenʼt set a PIN for this receiver, the default PIN is 1234.
  5. Next to Time locking, select Change.
  6. Scroll to and select the days and times you want to lock. The selected channel is indicated by a padlock icon. You may choose to apply the same lock times to every day by selecting Apply to all days.
  7. Repeat this process for any other days and times you want to lock.
  8. Select View locked only to review which locks will be applied.
  9. Scroll to and select Time locking to activate the new locks.
  10. Select Save.

If you try to access live or recorded programming while the receiver is locked, you will be prompted to enter your PIN.

Note: depending on your TV service, this feature may not be applicable.

  1. Press the Home button on your Fibe TV Voice Remote and select Settings.
  2. Scroll to Parental Controls.
  3. Scroll to and select Parental Locking.
  4. Using your remote, enter your 4-digit PIN. If you havenʼt set a PIN for this receiver, the default PIN is 1234.
  5. Scroll to and select Turn off locking.
  6. Select Disable locking on this receiver for 4hrs.

The restrictions have been temporarily disabled for a period of four hours.
