Bell hardware warranty information

Returns policy

At Bell, we want to be sure you’re happy with your device. If you are not completely satisfied, you may exchange or return your device if you meet the following four conditions:

For postpaid mobile customers & Mobile Internet devices:

  1. You return the device within 15 days of your commitment start date.
  2. You return the device and original receipt to your purchase location.
  3. The device is in “like new” condition with all original packaging, manuals and accessories included.
  4. You have not used the device excessively, in violation of our Responsible Use of Bell Services Policy.

For prepaid mobile customers:

  1. You return the device within 15 days of your commitment start date.
  2. You return the device and original receipt to your purchase location.
  3. The device is in “like new” condition with all original packaging, manuals and accessories included.
  4. The device has not exceeded 30 minutes of voice usage or 50 MB of data usage.

You are responsible for payment of any minutes, usage or service incurred.

In-warranty policy

All Bell mobile phones and smartphones are covered by the manufacturer's limited warranty from the date of purchase, with the original bill of sale. For all defects covered by the limited warranty, the manufacturer will repair the device (or at their discretion, exchange for a refurbished unit). If the manufacturer replaces the device, the replacement device will carry a warranty period equivalent to the remainder of the original device's warranty, or will be covered for 90 days from the date of replacement, whichever period is longer. The manufacturer's limited warranty does not cover defects or damage caused by:

  • improper storage
  • damage from liquids
  • unauthorized modification
  • misuse
  • neglect
  • abuse
  • accidents
  • alteration
  • improper installation
  • abnormal operating conditions
  • events outside of human control, such as natural disasters, for which no one can be held responsible.
Mobile Internet device replacement:

Your Mobile Internet device will be replaced with another when either in-warranty or out-of-warranty service is required. These devices will be exchanged in 24 to 72 hours (excluding weekends and holidays). Shipping times vary nationally.

Out-of-warranty policy

If your device requires a repair that is not covered by the manufacturer’s limited one-year warranty, an out-of-warranty quote will be provided by the repair facility.

  • If you choose to repair your device, you will be responsible for all fees. You will receive a 12-month warranty on the completed repair.
  • If you choose not to repair it, your device will be returned at no cost.

Lifetime limited warranty on rental receivers for as long as a customer rents them; 1-year limited warranty on receivers that were purchased.

If you’re experiencing technical issues during the limited warranty period, contact us by chat or phone and a representative will assist you.

Please note:
Do not ship remote controls, cables and dishes with the receiver.

Purchased receivers that have not been activated may be returned to the original point of purchase, in “like new” condition, within 15 days of purchase.

You can replace an out-of-warranty receiver with a new one, either on a new rental plan or by purchasing it.

* If the damage is deemed to have been caused by the customer, it will not be covered by the warranty.

Before replacing it, please try troubleshooting your remote to make sure it really is defective.

All Bell remotes come with a 1-year warranty. If your defective remote is still under warranty, please contact us by chat or phone.

If the warranty has expired, you will need to purchase a replacement.

How to return your remote control

If you received a replacement remote control, you do not have to return your old one. Please dispose of your old remote control safely.

As all modems are the property of Bell, they do not require a warranty.

1-year limited warranty

During the limited warranty period, phones will be either replaced over-the-counter or repaired directly by the manufacturer or authorized service repair agents. This express limited warranty is subject to further restrictions and conditions with respect to the sale of the refurbished product and specially priced clearance product.

Accessories

1-year limited warranty

During the limited warranty period, products will be repaired or exchanged over-the-counter. We reserve the right to substitute a product with a product of similar value. Some exceptions apply.

Pagers

1-year limited warranty

During the limited warranty period, pagers will be repaired or exchanged over-the-counter for a refurbished unit. Out-of-warranty units may be exchanged for a refurbished unit at a reduced cost.

Promotional products

Manufacturer limited warranty

During the manufacturer’s limited warranty period, the product will be either replaced or repaired directly by the manufacturer or authorized service repair agents. We reserve the right to substitute a product with a product of similar value. Some exceptions apply.

1-year limited warranty: Bell warrants that the device will be free from defects in materials and workmanship when used normally and in accordance with its intended purpose.
