Learning about and managing my Sony smartphone

If your Sony smartphone becomes unresponsive or doesnʼt perform as expected, you can perform a hard reset to return it to the factory default state.
  1. Before resetting your phone, turn it off and then on again. This may solve the problem.
  2. If your device fails to turn on or you want to reset your device’s software, you can use Xperia Companion to repair your device. For more information on using Xperia Companion, see Xperia Companion.


Warning: all of your data, downloaded apps and settings will be erased during the reset.
  1. Touch Apps.
  2. Touch Settings.
  3. Scroll to and touch Storage.
  4. The space used and the available space are displayed.

  4. Scroll to and touch About phone.
  5. Scroll to and touch Status.
  6. Scroll to and touch Sim status.
  7. The phone number is displayed.
  1. Locate the SIM card slot on your device
  2. Insert the SIM removal tool (included in the box the phone came in) and push to eject the SIM/memory card tray.
  3. Remove the SIM/memory card tray.
  4. Insert the memory card and SIM card into the SIM/memory card tray.
  5. Re-insert the SIM/memory card tray and push until it clicks into place.
The SIM card slot location may differ depending on your model.
