How to change the SIM card or eSIM of my existing Bell Mobility service | Bell Support

Use this guide to help you change or restore the SIM card or eSIM of your Bell Mobility device.

Before continuing, make sure:
You have both your old device and your new device (if applicable) with you.
Your phone service is activated. If you’ve upgraded your device and want to activate it, please visit bell.ca/activatemydevice.
Your current device or another phone number on your account can receive text messages. Contact us if you don’t have a working phone for verification purposes.
Once you’re set, let’s get started.

Confirm the type of change you want to make

If your phone is on eSIM and displays SOS or No Service as the signal strength, select Restore eSIM service on my device.

eSIM Quick Transfer

You can transfer your Bell Mobility service to an eSIM on another device using eSIM Quick Transfer if you meet one of the requirements below.

Use eSIM Quick Transfer on iPhone or iPad

Transfer service to a new Apple device

You can easily transfer your Bell Mobility service between two Apple devices running iOS 18.4 or above.

Before you start, turn on Bluetooth on both devices and make sure your new device is connected to Wi-Fi or the mobile network.

What to do:
  1. On your new Apple device, go to Settings > Cellular > Setup cellular or Add eSIM.
  2. Touch Transfer from nearby iPhone (or iPad) and a verification code will be displayed.
  3. On your old device, enter the verification code.
  4. Follow the prompts on both devices to confirm the transfer and set up the eSIM.

Once done, you’ll see a screen confirming that your Bell SIM has been transferred

Transfer service on the same Apple device
  1. On your new Apple device, go to Settings > Cellular > Setup cellular or Add eSIM.
  2. Touch the line you want to transfer.
  3. Touch Convert to eSIM.
  4. Follow the prompts to complete the service transfer and set up your eSIM.
  5. Once your Mobility service is active, remove your SIM card from your device.
Transfer from Android

Before you start, place your phones next to each other so that you can see the prompts from both phones. Your iPhone must be running on iOS 26 or later. Currently, you can transfer from Google Pixel phones only.

  1. On your iPhone, open the Settings app.
  2. If you don’t have another SIM on your iPhone, go to Cellular > Set Up Cellular > Transfer from Android.

    If you already have another SIM on your iPhone, go to Cellular > Add eSIM > Transfer from Android.

  3. A QR code will appear on your iPhone. Use your Android camera to scan the QR code.
  4. On your Android, select the phone number that you want to transfer and tap Transfer.
  5. When the transfer is complete, tap Done on your iPhone, and tap OK on your Android.

Use eSIM Quick Transfer on Samsung devices

Transfer service to a new device

You can easily transfer your Bell Mobility service between two Samsung or Android devices running Android 14 and One UI 6.1 or above.

Before continuing, make sure:
  1. Both devices have Bluetooth turned on.
  2. Your new device is connected to Wi-Fi or the mobile network.
  3. Your old device has password protection set up and has a secure screen lock.
What to do:
  1. On the new device, go to Settings > Connections > SIM Manager.
  2. Select Add eSIM > Transfer SIM from another device.
  3. You’ll be prompted to unlock your old device and place it next to the new device.
  4. Select Transfer on the old device and enter the verification code displayed on the new device.
  5. Select the SIM you want to transfer to on the new device, and confirm that on the old device.
  6. Follow the onscreen prompts to complete the transfer process and set up your eSIM.

Once done, you’ll see a screen confirming that your Bell SIM has been transferred

Transfer service on the same device

Before you start, make sure your Galaxy device is on Android 14 and One UI 6.1 or above, and is connected to Wi-Fi or the mobile network.

  1. On the new device, go to Settings > Connections > SIM Manager.
  2. Select the SIM card you want to convert to an eSIM.
  3. Select Convert to eSIM.
  4. Follow the prompts to complete the conversion and set up your eSIM.

Use eSIM Quick Transfer on Google Pixel devices.

Transfer service to a new Pixel device

If both of your devices are Android devices and your new device is a Google Pixel 8 series or later, you can easily transfer your Bell Mobility service to an eSIM on the new device using Android’s eSIM Quick Transfer.

Before continuing, make sure:
  1. Both devices have Bluetooth turned on.
  2. Your new device is connected to Wi-Fi or the mobile network.
  3. Your old device has password protection set up and has a secure screen lock.
What to do:
  1. On the newer device, go to Settings > Networks & Internet > SIMs.
  2. Select Transfer a SIM from another device.
  3. Unlock the older device then scan the QR code displayed on the new device.
  4. Select Transfer on the older device and follow the prompts.

Once done, you’ll see a screen confirming that your Bell SIM has been transferred.

Transfer service on the same Pixel device
  1. On your Google Pixel device, go to Settings > Networks & Internet > SIMs.
  2. Select the SIM that you want to convert
  3. Scroll down your SIM settings.
  4. Tap Convert to eSIM.
  5. Follow the prompts to complete the conversion and set up your eSIM.
Transfer from iPhone

Before you start, place your phones next to each other so that you can see the prompts from both phones. Your iPhone must be running on iOS 26 or later.

  1. On your Pixel phone, open the Settings app.
  2. Tap Network and Internet > SIMs > Add SIM > Transfer a SIM from another device > iPhone.
  3. Follow the instructions on the screen.
  4. A QR code will appear on your Pixel phone. Use your iPhone camera to scan the QR code.
  5. On your iPhone, select the phone number you want to transfer and tap Confirm.

Before you begin, please ensure you have the device you wish to restore services to.

Note: You can only restore the eSIM on the same device from which it was deleted.
