I'm having trouble activating my new Bell Satellite TV SmartCard

These messages may indicate that your programming expired because the SmartCards were not replaced and activated by the deadline. Follow these steps to fix this problem:
- First, make sure your receiver's software is up-to-date by checking its version:
Press the MENU button on your remote control.
Press 6 to select System Set-up (on a 1000 model, press 1).
Press 1 to select Installation (on a 1000 model, skip this step).
Press 3 to select System Info (on a 1000 model, press 5). - If the software version is lower than E600 or V200, you'll need to update your software. To do so, simply turn off your receiver by pressing the Power button on your remote control. The software will update on its own within a few minutes. Check to see if the software is up to date by performing step 1 again.
- If your receiver software version is above E600 or V200, you're ready to replace and activate your SmartCard.
- Follow the instructions inside the mailer and replace the SmartCard in your receiver. Make sure the correct new SmartCard goes to the designated receiver, as directed in the letter, and activate your new SmartCard.
- To do so, use our online tool and have your letter handy. You should be able to view your programming within 15 minutes of activation. In unusual cases, this may take up to 2 hours.
- If you have activated your SmartCard and, 2 hours later, cannot view your programming, please visit our activation tool, select the receiver with which you're having difficulty and follow the troubleshooting steps. If that doesn't solve the problem, please call 1 866 395- 9995 to speak to a representative.
If you're experiencing this problem and haven't received your SmartCard mailer at all, please read I can't access a channel on Bell Satellite TV.

This pop-up message appears when you have placed your new SmartCard into your receiver but don't have current software. To ensure the SmartCard is activated successfully, your receiver software version must be above E600 or V200, depending on the model of your receiver. Failure to activate your SmartCard will result in an interruption of your programming within a short period of time.

Check your software version
You need to ensure that your Bell Satellite TV digital receiver has the most current software version.To verify this, access the System Information Screen, using your digital receiver's remote control.
- Press the MENU button on your remote control.
- At the Menu screen, select 6 for System Set-up. (For digital receiver model 1000, select 1 for System Set-up.)
- At the System Set-up screen, select 1 for Installation. (For digital receiver model 1000, select 5 for System Info.)
- For digital receiver model 1000, you'll be able to verify the software version at this stage.
- For all other digital receiver models, select 3for System Info from the Installation screen.
- Once you've accessed the System Info screen, confirm that your software version begins with E6 or V2, followed by two numbers.
- If your software begins with E6 or V2, proceed to step 4. If it does not, please turn your Bell Satellite TV digital receiver off for 30 minutes, using your remote control, to allow the latest software to be downloaded. You'll then have to return to step 2, above, to verify the software version again.
