What is temporary service suspension?
Temporary service suspension helps you save money by suspending your phone service while you’re away or on vacation without having to disconnect your phone line or change your phone number. Your service is reactivated automatically on the date you choose.
There are no monthly fees for temporary service suspension (with the exception of Rent-to-own sets, outright sales financing sets and long distance plans with monthly rates).
Prices for temporary service suspension:
- $40 for up to 3 months (minimum of 2 weeks to a maximum of 3 months)
- $50 for up to 6 months (minimum of 2 weeks to a maximum of 6 months)
Note: If your alarm service is dependent on your telephone line, you may not want to suspend your service.
Set up your temporary Home phone service suspension
You can choose to:
- Fully suspend you service. Callers will hear a recorded message saying that the number is not in service.
- Redirect your calls to another number for an additional $2.80 a month. If you have a Bell Calling Card, you can use it as usual.
Log in to MyBell to set up your temporary suspension.
NOTE: Your service will be reactivated automatically on the date you choose when you are setting up your temporary suspension.
