What is HomeComm and how does it work?
HomeComm lets you share a receiver's phone line connection with other HomeComm-capable receivers in your home - making it easy to order Pay-per-view events and get Caller ID information on all your TVs.
HomeComm-compatible receivers will search for a phone connection using the electrical wiring in your home. If it finds another compatible receiver that has a phone connection, it will use that phone connection.
HomeComm-compatible receiver models: 6131, 6141, 9241, 9242 or 9400.
How do I set up HomeComm in my home?
To set up HomeComm in your home:
- Press MENU on your remote control.
- Press 6 for system setup.
- Press 1 for Installation.
- Press 4 for Connectivity.
- Press 3 for HomeComm Setup.
This will complete a scan of all HomeComm-compatible receivers and display whether or not the receiver is online or offline. If the receiver is online, features like Caller ID and PPV ordering are available. If the receiver is offline, there may be an issue with the internal wiring in the home.
Things like GFCI circuits (electrical outlets equipped with a "Test" and a "Reset" button), power bars, dimmers or plugs that are powered by a switch may cause interference with the signal and can cause the receiver to appear offline. If this happens, you should try another outlet.
Note: This feature may not always be available due to the complexity of home electrical systems.
