Simply connect an external hard drive to your 9241, 9242 or 9400 HD PVR Plus and enjoy near limitless storage.
The external hard drive connects to your receiver via USB and lets you transfer recorded content from your HD PVR. From there, the programs can be kept, watched or sent back to the HD PVR.
Many major external hard drive brands are compatible with the Bell Satellite TV 9241, 9242 or 9400 HD PVR. The minimum requirements are:
- 7200 RPM rotation speed
- Between 50 GB and 2 TB of capacity
- Holds a single hard drive (enclosures holding two disks are not supported)
- Plugs into an AC power outlet
- USB 2.0 connection
- No sleep mode (cannot power down when idle)
There's no activation fee for this feature - just plug and play.
Note:
The external hard drive can only be connected to one receiver. On a different receiver, the hard drive may need to be reformatted. You can move an external hard drive from one receiver to another receiver of the same class (i.e. HD or HD PVR) and on the same account.
If the HD PVR does not recognize an attached external hard drive, you may need to reset the hard drive to its factory default state. This can happen if the hard drive was previously used with a computer. Please contact the hard drive manufacturer for instructions on restoring factory defaults.
