How to change the closed captioning settings on your Bell Satellite TV receiver

Turn closed captioning on or off during live and recorded programs

Closed captioning (CC) displays an on-screen transcription of the audio portion of a program as it occurs (either word for word or in edited form), and sometimes includes non-speech or action elements.

Whole Home PVR 9500 / Whole Home receiver 7500
While viewing live TV, press the options button on the remote. From the on-screen menu, select Closed captions. Select On (or Off). Press back to return to live TV.

9400 and earlier models
Press Menu on your remote control. From the on-screen menu, select Preferences. Select Closed Caption. Select Turn Captions On (or Off). Select On or Off. Select Done.

Customize caption display (font, color, etc.)

Press Menu on your remote control. From the on-screen menu, select Settings. Select Preferences. Select Closed Caption. Select and make changes to the various options. Select Done.
