No. You can use Remote PVR to search for new programs and set new recordings without connecting your HD PVR to the Internet. However, if you choose to connect your receiver to your high speed Internet you’ll be able to use additional features, such as:
- Tracking PVR disk space
- Setting recording priorities and managing conflicts
- Reviewing all recordings and deleting recordings to make space
- Reviewing and editing details of upcoming recordings
- Using a mobile phone or computer as a remote control
