The iPhone 5 requires a 4G LTE Nano SIM card.

Where can I buy a 4G LTE Nano SIM and how much does it cost?
You can purchase a 4G LTE Nano SIM card at a Bell store or online for $5. It’s already included if you purchase your iPhone 5 from Bell.

How do I activate my Bell Nano SIM card?
To activate a new Bell SIM card, please visit a Bell Mobility store or authorized dealer or contact us.

How do I transfer my contacts from my old phone to my new iPhone 5?
To transfer contacts from another iPhone, you can use iTunes. See the PDF user guide for details.

To transfer contacts from another type of phone, Bell offers a tool in-store that lets you do this effortlessly for $20.

Do I need a new charging cable for the iPhone 5? Can I use my old cable?
A new charging cable is included with the iPhone 5.

The iPhone 5 is equipped with a new connector at the bottom of the device, called a Lightning connector. To use your old iPhone charging cable with the iPhone 5, you’ll need a Lightning-to-30-pin adapter, which is available in Bell stores and online.

iPhone 5 pre-orders

I pre-ordered my iPhone 5 in a Bell store. Can I pick it up at different location than where I originally ordered?
You must pick up your iPhone 5 at the same Bell store where you ordered.

I pre-ordered my iPhone 5 online or over the phone. When will it get shipped?
Online and telephone orders placed on September 14 and 15 were shipped on September 21, 2012. Please allow 3 to 5 business days for standard delivery.

How do I track the shipping status of my pre-ordered phone?
When your iPhone 5 was shipped, you should have received a confirmation email with a Canada Post tracking number.

What happens if the phone is delivered and I’m not there to receive it?
If you’re not home, Canada Post will leave a delivery notice. Canada Post will then hold your package for a maximum of 15 days at the pick-up location identified on the notice. You must pick up your package yourself, with photo ID to confirm your identity.

If I’m not satisfied with the phone, can I return it and get a refund?
Online: If you're not 100% satisfied with your phone, you’ll receive a refund 15 to 30 days after we receive and verify the items you’ve returned.

To return your phone, simply fill out the return form included with your shipment and stick the included return waybill on the outside of the box. Drop off the package at any Canada Post outlet. To find the nearest location, you can contact Canada Post at canadapost.ca.

We will refund your money in the same way that you paid.

  • For purchases made with credit cards, the card used will be credited with the refund.
  • If you billed your purchase to your Bell account, the refund will appear on your next statement or on the one following, depending on your billing date.

In-store: If you're not 100% satisfied with your phone, you can return it to the store where purchased, or to the address specified for returns. We'll give you a full refund if you return it with your original sales receipt within 14 days of purchase. Some restrictions apply.

Can I switch the model or size of the phone I pre-ordered?
This is only available for pre-orders processed in a Bell store. You will only be able to switch your pre-ordered phone if there is an available phone in stock at the Bell store you visit.

When can I download the iOS 6 software update?
It has been available since September 19, 2012.

What devices are compatible with iOS 6?
It applies to all models of iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPad 2 and the third-generation iPad. iOS 6 is pre-installed on the iPhone 5.

How do I get the update?
There are two ways to get the iOS 6 software update:

  • On your device: select Settings > General > Software Update.
  • On your computer: connect your device to your computer and launch iTunes. iTunes should automatically search for the update. If it doesn’t, select your device and then select Check for Updates.
