What is a Turbo Stick?

A Turbo Stick is a wireless device that gives you a reliable Internet connection anywhere you can use your Bell mobile phone – and you don’t have to look for a Wi-Fi hotspot. You can use your Turbo Stick with any compatible computer with a USB port, including Apple Mac computers.

You can also move your Turbo Stick from one computer to another. All of your usage, regardless of which computer it's with, will be totaled and count against the monthly usage on your Turbo Stick account.

You can purchase a Bell Turbo Stick online and choose a data plan to suit your needs.

To find out if a Turbo Stick will work on your computer, visit bell.ca/mobileconnect.

Installing or activating a Turbo Stick

When using your Turbo Stick for the first time, you must install or activate it. Plug the Turbo Stick into your laptop's USB port. You’ll be asked to install the free Mobile Connect software included on the Turbo Stick. Mobile Connect makes connecting to the Internet and monitoring your usage easy. The entire process usually takes less than 5 minutes.

Your computer may appear frozen during the installation. Please be patient and do not remove the Turbo Stick from your computer. Driver installation errors can occur if you remove the Turbo Stick during the installation process. Learn about correcting Turbo Stick driver errors.

If after 15 minutes the software has not installed properly, try moving the computer to an area with better wireless coverage or activate the Turbo Stick manually. Learn about manually activating your Turbo Stick.

Monitoring your data usage

Keep track of your monthly usage through the following methods.

My Bell

Your most accurate data usage can be found on your Bell invoice. For billed usage, review your latest Bell invoice.

To see your unbilled usage and usage history:

  1. Log in to My Bell.
  2. Click on My services at the top of the page. If you have more than one Mobility service, select the device you’d like to check.
  3. Click on the My usage tab.
  4. You can view the unbilled usage summary or detailed usage by selecting the desired billing period from the drop-down menu.

Mobile Connect

The Mobile Connect software keeps track of the total amount of data you use every time you connect to the Internet. You can see a monthly summary by opening Mobile Connect on your computer and choosing Connection log from the Tools menu.

Note: Not intended for billing purposes. Unbilled usage information available through My Bell and Mobile Browser self serve updates may exclude sessions from the last 24 hours of usage. Data charges may apply unless you subscribe to a data bundle service.

You may also send a free text message to TCARE (82273) from your Turbo Stick to get your current usage. For other text messages, charges may apply. Text messaging may not be subscribed on your Turbo Stick.
