How to configure my Samsung Propel for the Bell Mobility 4G network

Contact us
If you bought your Samsung Propel from Bell, it is already set up for the Bell Mobility 4G network.

Follow these instructions to manually configure an unlocked Samsung Propel for multimedia messaging (MMS) and browsing on the Bell Mobility 4G network.

Browser settings

  1. Select Menu > Settings > Connectivity > Network Profiles.
  2. Select Options (left softkey) > New.
  3. Enter the following settings:
    Name: Bell WAP Connection
    APN: proxy.bell.ca
    Auth type: Normal
    User ID: Blank
    Password: Blank
    Protocol: HTTP
    Home URL: http://homepage
    Proxy address: 206.47.201.84
    Port: 80
  4. Select Save.
  5. Select Menu > Internet > Options (left softkey) > Advanced > Browser Settings.
  6. Select the profile created above.

If you bought your phone from another mobile provider, the Go to URL option (Options > Go to URL) may be hardcoded to go to that provider’s WAP page. This page will not load under Bell settings. You will not be able to enter a different URL this way. However, the workaround is to go to Bookmarks (Options > View Bookmark) and enter a URL as a bookmark.

MMS settings

  1. Select Menu > Settings > Connectivity > Network Profiles.
  2. Select Options (left softkey) > New.
  3. Enter the following settings:
    Name: Bell MMS Connection
    APN: proxy.bell.ca
    Auth type: Normal
    User ID: Blank
    Password: Blank
    Protocol: HTTP
    Home URL: http://mms.bell.ca/mms/wapenc
    Proxy address: 206.47.201.84
    Port: 80
  4. Select Save.
  5. Select Menu > Messages > Messages Settings > Picture Message > Picture Message Profiles.
  6. Select the profile created above.

Please note that you will have to reprogram these settings any time you insert a different SIM card or if you reset the phone.
