How to configure my Samsung Flight A796 for the Bell Mobility 4G network

If you bought your Samsung Flight A796 from Bell, it is already set up for the Bell Mobility 4G network.

Follow these instructions to manually configure an unlocked Samsung Flight A796 for multimedia messaging (MMS) and browsing on the Bell Mobility 4G network.

Browser settings:

  1. Select Menu > Settings > Connectivity > Network Profiles.
  2. Select Create and create a new profile with the following settings:
    Name: Bell WAP Connection (can be anything)
    Access name: pda.bell.ca
    Auth type: Normal
    User ID: None
    Password: None
    Protocol: HTTP
    Home URL: http://homepage
    Proxy address: web.wireless.bell.ca:80
    Longer time (sec.): 300
  3. Select Save to go back to the Network Profiles menu.
  4. Return to the Menu settings and select Internet. After the browser has loaded, select: Settings > Browser Profiles.
  5. From the Browser Profiles menu, select Bell WAP Connection, then the name of the newly created profile.

MMS settings:

  1. Select Menu > Settings > Connectivity > Network Profiles.
  2. Select Create and create a new profile with the following settings:
    Set name: Bell MMS (can be anything)
    Access name: pda.bell.ca
    Auth type: Normal
    User ID: None
    Password: None
    Protocol: HTTP
    Home URL: http://mms.bell.ca/mms/wapenc
    Proxy address: web.wireless.bell.ca:80
    Longer time (sec.): 300
  3. Select Save to go back to the Network Profiles menu.
  4. Select Menu > Message > Message Settings > Picture Messages > Picture Message Profiles.
  5. From the Picture Message Profiles menu, select Bell MMS.

Please note that you will have to reprogram these settings any time you insert a different SIM card or if you reset the phone.
