I cannot send/receive email on my smartphone when connected to Wi-Fi

Contact us

If you cannot send email over Wi-Fi:

Your outgoing mail (SMTP) settings may be incorrect or your email Internet service provider may be blocking outgoing email accounts that are not its own.

To adjust the settings of your outgoing mail server, get the correct settings from your Internet service provider and follow the steps in your device user guide. Visit the Smartphones, phones and Mobile Internet page to get your device user guide. Just select your smartphone manufacturer and model from the drop down and click Update.

Before using a public Wi-Fi connection, connect to your home wireless network to ensure you are able to send and receive emails. At times, certain services (such as email) may be restricted.

If you cannot receive email over Wi-Fi:

Please follow the steps mentioned above. Instead of adjusting the outgoing mail server or SMTP, update the settings for the “incoming mail server”.
