Requirements for Bell Internet Security Services

Bell Internet Security Services is included with your Bell Internet subscription.

In order to run Bell Internet Security Services, your computer must meet the following minimum requirements:

Windows XP with SP3/ Windows Vista (all versions except Vista Starter Edition)/Windows 7. We regret that there is no support for Macintosh nor Windows 8 operating systems at this time.

Computer processor

Pentium 500 MHz or better

Computer memory

512 MB for Windows XP and 1 GB for Windows Vista/Windows 7

Browser

Internet Explorer 6.0 or up

Hard drive

350 MB of free disk space

Internet connection

56 kbps dial-up connection or high speed DSL line. (Security Advanced with Personal Vault requires a connection with a minimum of 500 Kbps.)

We no longer offer this product. Instead, we recommend McAfee Security from Bell, which is free with Bell Internet.

Uninstalling Bell Internet Security Services (RadialPoint)

  1. Security Services functions in the background, even if individual components are turned off, and must be shut down before it can be uninstalled. To do this, open Bell Internet Security Services (RadialPoint) by clicking Start, then Programs (or All Programs) and then Bell Internet Security Services. Then, shut it down by clicking File, then Exit. In Windows XP, click Start, then Control Panel, then double-click Add or Remove Programs.
  1. You should now see a list of programs, including Bell Internet Security Services and Bell Internet Service Advisor.
  1. Select Bell Internet Security Services and click Remove. Follow the prompts to remove it and restart the computer.
  1. Go back to Add or Remove Programs, select Bell Internet Service Advisor and click Remove. Follow the prompts to remove it.

If you are unable to remove Bell Internet Security Services (RadialPoint) through Add or Remove Programs, download and run Security Services’ uninstall tool.

  1. Download RpsUU.exe to your desktop.
  2. Double-click the file to run it.
  3. Click Yes to confirm that you want to uninstall.
  4. Restart the computer when prompted.
If you’re still unable to uninstall Bell Internet Security Services using these steps, you should read Microsoft’s page about Windows installation troubleshooting, and then download and run Microsoft Fix It from the same page.

Password-protecting Bell Internet Security Services

Once you’ve downloaded and installed Bell Internet Security Services, you should set the password so that your settings remain unchanged. Here’s how.
  1. Open Bell Internet Security Services by clicking Start, Programs (or All Programs) and then Bell Internet Security Services.
  1. Click on General, then Password.
  1. Click on the button beside Use a password to restrict access, then enter your new password, confirm it, and enter a hint to help you remember it.

Note: There is no way to retrieve a lost password, so keep a note of it in a secure place. If you do lose your password and need to reset it, please contact us.
