How to change my wireless network security password (WEP or WPA2 key)

Contact us
You can change your wireless home network security password (WEP or WPA2 key), if you choose. It will give your network an added layer of security and will be easier for you to remember.
To create a new security password (WEP or WPA2 key):
  1. Open your web browser.
  2. Type http://192.168.2.1 in the address bar and press Enter.
If prompted, enter your username and password. If you haven't changed the admin username and password to something more secure, enter the defaults:

    Username: admin

    Password: admin
  3. Select the Home Network tab.
  4. Click Wireless Settings.
  5. Choose a type of authentication in the Authentication drop-down menu. We recommend choosing WPA2-PSK.
  6. Click the Use custom pass phrase option.
  7. Enter a unique password that’s between 8-63 characters long into the Key field.
