Can I keep my current phone number when I switch to Bell Home phone?

Contact us

If you are staying in the same general calling area you should be able to keep the same phone number you currently have when you switch to Bell.

We’re unable to transfer your number if you’re moving outside your general calling area, such as a new town or city. Only active phone numbers can be transferred.

Some things to remember before you switch to Bell Home phone service:

  • You don’t need to contact your current phone provider as we’ll take care of the details with them. However, you will need to cancel Internet or television services with another provider yourself.
  • Check if services such as Internet access or security systems might be affected by a phone number transfer.
  • Your voicemail and any features you had with your previous service provider cannot be transferred and will be disconnected.
  • Check the details of your current service to understand any charges, such as cancellation fees and outstanding balances you may be responsible for when the service is cancelled.

To switch to Bell Home phone or find out more information, contact us.
