Retrieving your voicemail messages by phone
- You can access your voicemail by phone in three ways depending on whether you are calling from home or from another phone:
- From your home phone, dial *98.
- From any phone, enter the Dial-in number displayed on the Customize your Voicemail page of the Digital Voice Online Account Manager.
- From any phone, enter your 10-digit Digital Voice Number then press 9 when your voicemail greeting begins to play.
- When prompted for your mailbox number, enter your 10-digit Digital Voice Number followed by the pound (#) key.
- If this is the first time accessing voicemail, when prompted for your password, enter the last seven digits of your Digital Voice Number (omit the area code) followed by the pound (#) key.
- For security reasons, the first time you access the voicemail system, you should change your password to something only you will know.

Retrieving your voicemail messages by email
Your voicemail system is already set up to retrieve your voicemail by phone. Follow the steps below to change this setting to access your voicemail by email.
- Log in to your Digital Voice account . Click on your Digital Voice phone number on the My Bell page. Click the See or customize my features link and then click the Voicemail link.
- Select the Access voicemail using Email radio button to access your voicemail messages using email.
- Select Email only to have all your voicemail messages sent to the email accounts you specify. If you choose this option, you will not be able to retrieve your messages by phone.
Or
- Select Email and Phone to have your messages sent to the email accounts you specify and also have the messages available to be retrieved by phone for 5 days. After 5 days, messages are permanently deleted from the voicemail system. Any messages you saved before enabling voicemail to email will be deleted 5 days after choosing this option.
- Enter up to 3 email addresses to which your messages will be sent.
- Click the Save button.
Note: if you select Access voice mail using email, each voicemail message left in your voicemail box will be sent as an audio attachment to the email accounts you specify. This way you can listen to your messages as often as you wish, send them to friends and family or even save them to your hard drive.
If you choose to have your messages sent to your based email account (for example Yahoo! or Hotmail), please be sure that your account will have sufficient space to accept your voice mail messages. If you do not have sufficient space to receive the email with audio attachment, you risk not getting the message.
